Is Visiting Elephant Sanctuary Worth It? Experiencing Elephant Kingdom in Koh Samui

In short, visiting an ethical elephant sanctuary is definitely worth it? We are excited to share our experiences and emotions from our visit to an incredible place on Koh Samui island – Elephant Kingdom Sanctuary, an elephant sanctuary!

Our family spent a month traveling in Thailand, and visiting these magnificent creatures was a must. We have a deep love for animals and strongly oppose their exploitation and mistreatment.

It saddens us to see tourists riding elephants, camels, donkeys, and other animals for money and entertainment. That’s why we chose to visit a place where animals are surrounded by love, cared for, and healed.

Our story is about Elephant Kingdom Sanctuary on Koh Samui island.

Elephant Kingdom: A Must-Visit Sanctuary on Koh Samui

For anyone visiting Thailand, it is essential to explore such places, and there are quite a few in this country. On Koh Samui, we chose this elephant sanctuary because it is modern, clean, and features wooden walkways throughout the area, allowing visitors to walk around and observe and feed the elephants from above.

Our entire family loved this place. For breakfast, drinks and chocolates were provided, and for lunch, there was a buffet with both hot and cold dishes, including an incredibly delicious Pad Thai and traditional papaya salad. The site also features a cozy café and a souvenir shop.

In Love with Elephants

We had the opportunity to prepare food for the elephants using different ingredients, mixing them by hand in a large bowl, and then forming the mixture into balls to feed the elephants. Our daughter was thrilled and even mustered the courage to kiss an elephant a few times.
